Why we do what we do
Senior Reid Booher, broke out in Track, setting PR's in the 1600m, 4:41 and the 3200m 10:41. His challenge will be to take his times to the next level. A projected low-to-mid-16 5K is what it will take for him to help the team reach the Regional Meet for the first time since 2010.
Senior Anh-Vu looks to break his Cross-Country Curse and actually start and finish a season. Back-to-back summer injuries have prevented Anh-Vu from showcasing what he can do. A PR in the 3200m at 10:33, sets him up for another shot a great cross-country season.
Senior Carson Countiss, led all Bobcats last season at the district meet with a 17:27 5K. He continued his success into track where PR's in both the 1600m 4:36 and the 3200 m 10:22 sets up his projected 16:20 5K at the District Meet in October. Competing against lofty times left behind by his brother's is what is motivating Carson.
Senior Magnus Mollenhauer went into the 2023-2024 coming off a season ending track injury. He still led all runners the first few meets until more injuries slowed his progress. His track season never blossomed but he hung in there. Magnus at his best is one of our top runners and can have a big impact on how good the team can be this season.
Senior Khaleel Benson was unable to duplicate his 2023 Track Season performance as injuries sidelined him in both Cross-Country and Track. A slow summer build up will be needed for Khaleel to be successful his senior season and to gain his confidence back. His maturity and desire to compete will help mentor his teammates.
Senior Brandon Rials, had some glimpses of his successful Sophomore season performances leading all bobcats at the Galveston Beach Run and tossing in a 10:33 3200 m race during track season. Brandon is showing his desire to ignite the fire that burned brightly during his Sophomore year and will be force to contend with at the District Meet in October.
Senior Nathaniel Dazey, a four year member of BFNDrunning, showed he is ready for his senior Cross-Country season by setting his 5k PR last year at the SBISD Invitational. He will once again need this type of performance to make an impact on the strong group in front of him.
Junior Tayce Harmon seems unstoppable at the moment. Tayce had the second fastest Bobcat 5k trailing only Carson Countiss at last year's district meet even though he competed in the Sub-Varsity Division. Tayce set PR's in the 1600m and 3200m during track season and recently recorded his 3rd fastest 5k ever while doing a workout. Tayce's p
Tayce's pace is very consistent allowing him to catch those that went out faster than he does. I see him making a big impact this coming season.
Junior Caleb Ullrich set his track PR in the 800 m and will look to build on this success through the Cross-Country season. His lofty goals for his love of the oval will undoubtedly help him have a strong Cross-Country season.
Junior Keagan Holt, has the foot speed to make the varsity team and have an impact at the District Meet in October. Keagan will need to improve his endurance and work hard this summer to move up the ladder and displace the talented group of Seniors in front of him.
Junior Keagan Holt was always on the heels of Tayce Harmon during Cross Country and was generally competitive with him during the track season. Keagan will need to race from gun to finish to make the varsity group in 2024.
